If you are doing movie only, this movie requires no compression. You can just rip the movie and burn the output file, it is small enough.
I had problems at on first attempt using dvd shrink nero and anydvd, but I updated anydvd and it worked fine.
riesling - I've had probs with this dvd too...my trial ended with anydvd and now everytime I download the software it still tells me that my trial has ended...can anyone help me out with this...anydvd was good
Now you have to buy it - only allowed 1 free trial. Run a few bucks off on it now - after the 1st of year going up to $49. Use RipIt4Me - will handle this one and all the newer stuff out there. All free. Here's guidew/ links to download.

Thanx riesling & Binkie! I used ripit4me but now I have to go pick up some dvd dl...it was just alot easier to have anydvd runnin in the back ground and dvd shrink doing the rest! Well I don't know what I would be lookin for on that anydvd situation but I'll try riesling.
@riesling - that's pretty low, not wanting to stump up a small fee for a program that provides you hassle-free dvd backing up
