hey i was just wondering which media brand is better. the 2 im looking at are the DVD+R 8X RICOH GOLD TOP BRANDED with the media code of RICOHJPNR02

or the DVD-R 8X RITEK SILVER MATTE with the media code of DVD-R 8X RITEK SILVER MATTE.

Personally I would go for the Ricoh's, Ritek's quality as of late has been questionable but they may have their problems under control now.

i think you MEAN to say the media ID coding on the 8x dvd-r riteks is RitekG05~ :)

i've had a lot of success with the RitekG05s, mine were under the Ridata Ritek brand labelling; but, as the others have stated, there HAVE been some issues as of late with Ritek's quality control...i didn't have any issues on MINE (500+ used...Rotary also uses a LOT of RitekG05s with very good success too), but a lot of other members here have reported problems... :p

i haven't used MANY Ricohjpn coded discs in the past, but the few i HAVE used are pretty good; if i'm not mistaken, i think brobear has had great success with Ricoh media and they are still very good to him to this day~ :) (i might be wrong, but i think he's a Ricoh media fan~)

    docTY~
