Has anyone personally repaired a 360 with this ailment? If so, I have a couple questions Thanks in advance.
hi ive heard of alot of fixes to fix it. but ive taken my xbox 360 apart like took dvd drive and took the fan out. i then powerd the xbox on without the fan on which heated the motherboard leave it on for like 20 mins get it REAL HOT. i powerd my 360 up and it was fine has been for a few days now.
Google "X-Clamp Replacement". Note to funman22 - just because you heat the solder enough so it reseats itself, what's not to say normal use won't break the cheap ass stuff Microsoft uses again? I've never believed that any type of heating something will make it run longer. Just like overclocking a processor back in the day, it'll run faster, get hotter, and die quicker. You're basically cooking your 360 to work a few more days or weeks.
Thank you very much to both replies, I think I'm going with the x clamp replacement, it seems like it has worked for alot of cases. Thanks again.
yeah im not saying it will work forever but it has worked for me since i did it. i dont there ever will be a proper fix for this anyway. none of the fixes will last for years.
