Since "Rip it for me" asks you to disable Anydvd when using does this mean that you really do not need Anydvd anymore to backup your disc's?...

You do not have to have AnyDVD if you are using RipIt4Me. However, I
have both. I use AnyDVD 95% of the time. For me it is faster and
simpler to use. However RipIt4Me does some of the more difficult
movies when AnyDVD has not yet upgraded their software.
I have a question about whether AnyDVD is pushing for those of us
that don't own Clone to have to purchase it. Sometimes AnyDVD will
not do one of the more difficult movies without Clone. What do some
    of you experts think?
Don't misunderstand me. I still think AnyDVD is one of the best
softwares. It just doesn't hurt to have both programs at your
    disposal.

AnyDVD runs in the background while you write a file with the program
of your choice. What it does is unencrypt the DVD so your computer
can write the information to your program.
