I ripped a DVD onto my harddrive using DVD decrypter..now I have two files...a MDS and ISO file... the problem is the content is more than 4.3 GB so I have to run it through DVD shrink to take out things I don't need...the thing is, I get stuck here. The DVD I ripped is a collection of clips of a show, so it's not just a single movie. Which file do I burn? the MDS or ISO? Also, when I clicked on Reauthor..one of the parts of the dvd doesn't show up, but when I switch to FULL DISC mode, the clip which is categorized in the unreferenced Material shows up....I want to burn this as well, but when it doesn't show up when I switch to the reauthor mode. What could be the probleM???
hi when reauthoring you have to drag across wha you want! and you loose the menus! so each thing you drag over will play one after the other! do you want to keep all the riped dvd? if so just hit backup on full dvd
But the compression percentage is at 68%..is that good, or not? I know I'll lose some quality, but I don't want a really bad quality dvd...
hold on..so after opening it up in Shrink what do I press? What do I do? Click on back up?? Then what?
Dude there is a guide button at top of page you need to do some reading first. Always read the guides first before you start asking very basic questions. Good Luck Spacedust
I did read the guides; I even read BBmayo's guides...but I seem to run into deadends everytime which is why I'm asking.
Ater you open movie in shrink click on name of movie under dvd structure. I usually take out some audio stuff for me is unnecessary. Like French & spanish, unless your running 5.1 or DTS I usually take those out to this will help with compression. If you just want the movie and not the extra stuff click re-author, Under Main Movie usually you will see either title1 or title1 & 2 which I think most of the time will be full screen and wide screen left click on title and drag it over to dvd structure window. Click backup from here you have a few options, select backup target drop down. ISo image file or ISO image file and burn with decrypter personally I do the first and fire up dvd decrypter later and burn .iso file. Which ever you prefer. Personally I like using dvd decrypter to rip and burn some like using others like nero. On main screen with shrink select edit, preferences,File I/O, check enable burning with nero. That's pretty much it. Tips: use good quality media like verbatum or Tiyo Yuden. Depending on the write quality of your drive most people recommend burning at 4X this will keep errors Lower on disk. -R disks seem to be more compatible in standalone players, You may have to experiment with +R/-R if your burner will do both. See which one your player likes best. You may also want to run +R/-R threw something like nero cd quality tests to see which one has lower errors on disk for example I have Sony DRU710A I can tell quality test look much better on +R VS -R. Diffrent manufactor drives will vary. Good Luck Spacedust
