OK, I have a question and I hope that this is the right place to post it. I have DVD Shrink, RipIt4Me, and DVD Decrypter, if none of these will work for what I want to do I am willing to download other freeware. OK, I have a rather large DVD collection. I bought a new external hard drive and its main purpose will be to hold all of my videos. Most of my DVDs are like TV series. What I want to do is rip my DVDs where each episode is all together in one link. I have tried ripping the DVDs and they rip without sound, each episode rips into like four or five different links instead of just one, and they rip in IFO and BUP files. I would like them to rip in files that are supported by Windows MEdia Player. Again, I don't want to burn these files to a DVD, I just want to store them on my hard drive. Please help if you can. Thanks!

    www.dvdfab.com

to convert to iso use dvd shrink or imgburn

If you convert to ISO, then you limit your choices of what you can use for playback. Don't even think WMP accepts ISO.You have to use a player that reads an ISO or mount the ISO onto a virtual drive...trouble, trouble.

You have to rip the movie to your hard drive using the free DVDFab HD Decrypter or any other good decrypter(AnyDVD).
Then, using DVD Shrink you reauthor and save the episodes individually. If you want DVD Shrink to save each episode as one single VOB, you have to go in Preferences and un-tick the option to split the output files in 1GB chunks. You will then have 1 single VOB for each episode. The BUP and IFO you can discard them.

If you just want to store them to your hard drive, to conserve space, you can compress those to an MPEG4(Divx/Xvid...)

If you can play DVDs with WMP, it will play the VOBs.If not,WMP will play lots of formats if you have the right codec installed. For that, you should probably get K-Lite codec pack.

If you download Divx 6.8 for Windows, which is free, it comes with a Divx converter, which I think supports batch conversion. Or you can use Avidemux and convert to MPEG4/AVI using Xvid or other codec. AutoGk also converts to AVI. If you have Nero, you can convert with Recode to Nero MPEG4. Internet Video Converter is another free converter, Super . AlltoAVI is one of my favorites http://alltoavi.sourceforge.net/

    All free(except Nero,of course!)

Are you looking to keep the original menus intact for each of your episodic dvd's? If you are wanting to rip each dvd and keep all menus intact like the original, you can rip each dvd to it's separate folder on your hard drive using Ripit4me, Shrink and Dvd Decrypter. Also, add VobBlanker to your software arsenal, it's a program I cannot live without! And it's FREE!

Try getting a player called VLC Media Player, it's free. Windows Media Player sucks!

I can see the use of the menu for the entire disc...but for one 25 minutes episode, that might include 2 chapters, having the original menu I think would be a little counter productive:~)!
RI4M will do some of the titles, but it will choke when facing the new releases.Go with DVDFab HD Decrypter if success is what you want.
VLC is a great player(and much more). it will save streaming video, audio, convert video to mpeg4, rip unprotected DVDs,find online movie channels...
KMPlayer is another versatile player, however, some people want to use WMP, because they like it or because it meets their needs.
