Okay, so there's this tiny little section (about 7 mins worth) that I want to rip from a DVD that I legally purchased etc...
Now, which is the best program out there to perform this little task...and could perhaps even get the subtitles too (would be very grateful if there's any shareware or perhaps a program that has a trial version, since I will probably not be doing this very often). I am a complete novice in these matters, so I'm not gonna say that I have a degree in this stuff...so the next might be a pretty stupid question: I did a bit of reading while confronted with this task...and is the whole ASPI-driver-thing still an issue when one (like me) is running XP with SP2 and updates? Should I download the ForceAspi...or will I just be wrecking more havoc? To be honest, I've had so many problems with my computer (hardware-related, tho...losing two hdds because of a power surge is something that *really* hurts!), so I am not really keen on playing around with .dll-files too much...hell, I just need something that works!
Thanks for helping me, you guys.

if you go into Reauthor mode in DVD shrink, it lets you set "start" and "end" times, which you could set them @ the start and end of the clip you want, resulting in you obtaining only that 7 min. clip; not the whole movie, but as far as subtitles, I'm not totally sure if they'd play automatically; just make sure you don't check off the subtitle streams in the audio streams window.

Just a note, you will lose menu if you re-author.
