ripping a soundbite?

what i want to do is rip a specific sound clip from a .wmv, avi, or mpeg file, but i cant figure out how. tried using vitualdub, but it wont sem to let me do it.

any help would be groovy.

(don't know if this is the right forum, mods move if appropriate.)

What other software do you have? It is easy to do in Roxio EMC 7.5.

 

oh, i have nero. dint think about using wave editor. don't have roxio, but hey thanks, there's an idea
