My goal is to rip my DVD collection to a Video Server and then send it around the house. How can I, if at all, rip a DVD and then play it back as if I hada inserted it into a DVD players. ie, with menus, bonus features, and even, say, the trailers?

    ThanX

You can create an ISO of the entire disc with DVD Decrypter. Then use Daemon Tools to mount the ISO to a virtual drive.

That's good info but I think I mis-typed what my intentions were. I wanted to rip, COMPRESS, and then play back an entire DVD with all of the features and menus. Using like a DivX format. ISO's are great but at 2-4 GB per disc, I won't have too many in my collection!

How can I DivX a complete disc and have it perform and interface as if the disc is in a DVD player?

Compressing the movie is one thing, but maintaining menu and extras functionality is another. I'd love to be proven wrong but I'm not sure if what you want is possible yet.

Well it looks like I may have proven myself wrong. Check this out: http://www.tiasoft.de/

I have no idea how it works or how well it works but it might be what you're looking for.

Thanx TG! Looks like they have the idea. Too bad the download sections says he "selling the 1.3" version. I hope it means its good enough to sell. I'll track it down, try it and report back.

    Thanx again for the help.
