Hi, Im trying to rip single VOB files from different karoake discs so i can put my favorite songs/video into one DVDR. I don't know if any programs does that or if any instruction on how to do it. Im trying to do it for my mom as a gift, but in desperate need of help!. Im sorry if Im posting this in the wrong place.
Just about any DVD ripper, like DVD Fab or DVD Shrink, among others, will let you choose only certain titles from all that are on the DVD. Open the disc in VLC Player and use the "Navigation" menu to see which title or chapter the video you want is on. That is, play the DVD, as usual, choosing the song you want from the DVD's menu, then click on "Navigation" and scroll down to "Title" and/or "Chapter". A fly-out menu will appear and a little dot will be beside the title or chapter that is currently playing. Take note of where it is, then go back to the DVD menu and play the next video and take note of it's location. This is one of the easiest ways to find out exactly where each clip is located, within the DVD structure. Otherwise, you'd have to guess as the file names won't tell you anything. If each video is on it's own "Title", then any ripper will do. If the DVD contains a large "Title", with each video in it's own "Chapter", then DVD Shrink is one of your best options. It's probably best to just rip the whole DVD to your hard drive, first, so that your optical drive doesn't have to work too hard. In DVD Shrink, choose "Open Files" and find the DVD image you've ripped. Once it's loaded in, choose "Re-Author" and drag the "Title" from the right-side box into the left-side box. Click the button, above the left-side box, that looks like two blue arrows pointing left and right. A new window will appear where you can choose start and end points. There's a little drop-down menu where you can go straight to the chapter you want (or you can use the arrows to move the slider to the spot you want). After you're done, click OK and you'll go back to the other window, where you'll click "Backup" and choose where you want to write the new files. It would help to have already created folders, with the proper names, in which to put these files, since DVD Shrink will just create AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders. After you've ripped and edited all of the clips you want, you can use TMPGenc DVD author to put them all together, with a new menu, into one DVD image. You can find more elaborate instructions for all of these programs here, at AfterDawn. Good luck. EDIT: Forgot to add - in TMPGenc DVD Author, choose "None" as your output file-size to keep it from re-encoding your video.
