Ripping just the audio from AVI or MPEG file....

    Could someone please let me know what software tools are needed to extract just the audio from avi and mpeg files. Thanks!

    You can use the MPEG tools function in TMPGenc to do that.

    Go File/MPEG Tools.

    Then select the simple De0Multiplex tab (Demux) and input the filename of the mpeg file. Never tried it with avis in TMPGEnc and it should work also, but if not, use a piece of software called DVD2AVI and select demux in the Audio Settings.
