The answer for this is probally in front of my face, but i can not figure out how to rip subtitles off a dvd, Accually it's a VOB on my hard drive. I have vso and the movie is PAL and i want NTCS. it has polish and english subs that i what to keep. but when i use VSO, right after i hit convert it says conversion failed. so i thought i would use Tmpegenc to convert to avi at 25Fps. and then take that file plus the ripped subs and try to use VSO again to convert. If there is an easier way to do this please let me know. and as for Gordon Knot, that program looks scary to use. Thanx for any help.
O.k we can skip the ripping of the subs. Vobsub gave me an .idx and a .sub. Now to put them together again with just the english subs that i ripped is where i'm lost. I can convert the vob to avi useing Tmpegenc keeping the Fps the same. so then i would have the avi and the .idx and .sub to use. I'm not sure witch one to use though.
O.k this is messed up. I took a vob and converted it to avi useing Tmpegenc. I also took that same vob and make a .sub useing vobsub. 2 subtitles showed up it that program. Polish and English, and that makes scense. I put both the avi and the sub in the same folder and gave them the same name. pink.avi and pink.sub. Then in ffdshow i enabled the subtitles box and even to search in that folder. I have Windows media player 10 and it is set to show subtitles and yet when i play pink.avi no subs come up. so i tried to rip the Polish subs and that didn't work either. I done this before. I can't figure out why they won't play. The only thing i can think of is there is no audio in the avi file right now . Does that make a differnce? Need some help. And i do have the latest frameserver.
