I'm pretty new at this so I hope you can help. I have an Iomega CD-rw and I am trying to rip individual songs from my CD/DVD drive to create a "favorites" disc. Using Hot Burn software and following the drag and drop directions I get only 1kb files which are of no use. I cvlick yes when the window says, save this selection to hard drive, but it still doesn't work. Using the new Windows Media player, I get the message, cannot read digital audio, swith to analog. I switch to analog and it appears to rip the song, but won't play back. Almost ready to give up! Help. Rich
Sorry forgot to make clear. I have Windows ME. I have run the aspichk and it says aspi not installed properly (not that I know what that means).
i had the same problem a while back. there are 2 ways of solving this. get hold of audiograbber(latest version). this should do the trick. if it still only allows you to rip only a certain amount of tracks, get hold of soundforge 5.0. this allows you extract straight from the cdrom. the issue you have is the same for ME/2000/xp. and so far soundforge 5 does it spot on.
forgot to add ASPI drivers are not supported/ are not bundled/ programmed into ME/2000/XP. you can get them from adaptec, but the support has gone down the drain with microsoft. best bet is S-forge5, trust me i use this on a daily basis for work. and if you use a MAC use Peek 3.0 or above.
