Roadrunner, where can i get an ip address, default gateway, subnet mask, and a dns server?

    i wanna know if theres a way to get all the above information. i just bought a cable modem by motorola sb5100. just thought i could get roadrunner without charge, but i need all the above stated. help please

    Are you a windows user? If so what version?

    The commands are different with older versions of windows. There are two ways to get the information you need.

    You can go to start
    run
    type in ipconfig
    all the info you want should be listed


    Another option is to go to the control panel
    click on Network and Internet Connections
    Network Connections
    Local Area Connection
    Click the support tab at the top and the information is there.

    no im saying what can i type in to get a connection to start using roadrunner?

    You won't, even if you manually input an IP on Roadrunner's range. They use MAC based security, so if your modem's hardware address (MAC) is not in their database they won't accept connections from you.

    so i can't use someone elses mac address thats already in their system. my cousin works there and he said he was gonna do it for me. but just in case.
