Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 error message

    I recently extracted, burned, and installed a backup of this game and was instructed to overwrite the rtc.exe file and an error message popped up stating that direct 3d device was unable to be created, so i run windows update to make sure directx 9 was installed after that whole process I still couldn't play the game. could someone shed some light on this topic if possible

    You either have a burning error on your disk, or the actual image is broken..

    OR

    You have a very old graphics card, or you have a new one but you haven't installed the drivers.

    I believe strongly that if it is one of those problems, it may be my video driver. I have a 3d phantom video card. ever heard of that? i may have to upgrade to something better. whataya think?
