I am running AnyDVD latest version 5960, DVD Shrink & DVD Decryter, but I cannot get a good copy of the film. What is happening is at the layer change point (91Mins) the film just stops! The only way to watch the rest of the film is to use the scene selection option from the menu and choose the next scene after the layer break and every thing works fine from the on. I notice when playing the original that there is quite a break at the layer change! more than what I believe is normal. Has anyone got any ideas how I can get around this problem. By the way I have even tried to copy with DVDFab. Do I have use dual layer DVD9 media instead of DVD5. All help will be greatly appreaciated

Well, you shouldn't need to burn to DVD-9 unless Shrink says that the movie is too large.

“Ronin” I am not familiar with however, you may use a feature similar to this.

With AnyDVD Running open Shrink. If shrink can shrink the movie then allow it. If it can not open the movie get a free program such as PgcEdit or VOB Blanker. Open the movie in one of the two and remove any bad files, FBI Warnings, advertisement...etc.

After doing that then open Shrink and shrink the image. Then what I do is run the shrunk file through DVDFab Decrypter. Then I burn the image with Nero.

AnyDVD helps tremendously. Give this a shot and see what you come up with. Make sure you have the latest downloads from DVDFab & AnyDVD.

Thank you that information I am aware of those programs but have never tried to you them!! But I will give them ago. The film does fit on a DVD5 with plenty of room but the problem has something to do with the layer change at the 91 minute mark?? for some reason or another. Once again thank you for your time.

Remember that DVD Decrypter is not updated any longer so definitely download DVDFab Express. If you follow the steps I addressed before you shouldn't have a problem. If you do, let me know and I will get the movie and see if I can figure out the problem.

    Good luck!

Ronin is an older movie that DVD Decrypter or DVD Shrink should be able to handle by their lonesome. Make sure that your original disc is free of dirt and scratches...it could also be a bad press from the factory.
