I burned a few of my LP's to CD's years ago, but that is it. So, I am ignorant on videos. What I have are videos that are .flv I assume that means "flash" I want to put these on a disc, so they will play on my desktop computer, laptop and my table top DVD player. I understand that Windows Media Player, which I have, is only compatible with certain formats. I like WMP and I also have VLC. It plays flash but I am not sure if flash can be played with WMP, or on my table top DVD player connected to my TV. I see all sorts of formats out there like mp3, mp4, avi, flv, dvix, wma. Which one do I need? What do they all mean as far as quality, etc. I do have Zilla Tube and it is supposed to have a converter. But, I have never used that, or used my Nero 7.0. Any detailed help? Thanks.
WMP doesn't play .flv MPC is a better player than WMP and has a layout similar to the original WMP and it plays .flv format.. A standalone DVD player won't play it either. If your standalone player is DivX certified (either a sticker on it or consult the manual) you can convert the files to avi, burn them as data files on a DVD and play them. StaxRip is good for converting a batch of files to AVI - it can utilize multiple CPU's if you have them. If your standalone can only play DVD movies, then the Likes of DVD Flick can be used to convert the files.It will optionally add a menu and burn the disk.
One of my DVD players is many years old. The other one is 2.5 years old. Neither are labelled DivX. Which format can be played on any DVD player or media player? AVI? thanks.
If the standalone units cannot handle DivX files, then you have to convert them to DVD Movie Format and burn a DVD disk. Use DVD Flick to add the files (the nominal capacity of a standard blank is two hours);use the Guide which is included with the program for details.
