Rootkits ?

    When ever i scan my pc for rootkits i find 2 of them so i hit remove then the software says that to remove them i have to restar my pc i hit yes then they are removed i scan a gain i find 2 more do the same scan again 2 more ect ect i tried 3 different softwares and all do the same?

    its respawning through your system restore files disable system restore http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310405 before you do that go to this link http://majorgeeks.com/page.php?id=20 as you scroll down you will find some good freeware that will help you with removing rootkits you may also want to install superantispyware or malwarebytes, the rootkit remover I usually use is from sophos. After you have installed which ever software make sure to update it prior to scanning, reboot if it asks, after your are back up to the desktop screen reboot again, press f8 quickly before teh windows loading bars come up this will give you the option to go into safe mode, once you get into it scan with your anti-virus scanner then perform another can with your anti-spyware scanner reboot again hopefully this will work if not make a note of the name of the offender and google it some reequire very specific methods for removal.
