actually ,you can run homebrew with 2.71 firmware using the 2.71 homebrew enabler

    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/479682.

and you can emulate 3.11 with device hook in a psp with 2.71 firmware

    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/473705

if you mean playing via usb ,and if you have custom firmware like you say in your sig try this guide

OK, thank you. I'll be checking this thread frequently. If you click the link in my second post it will bring you to where i downloaded the emulator, might i need to download some other program in addition to the one on the link? There's no "read me" file in the folder with a setup walkthrough, so maybe there's something i'm missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated. ^.~

hi guys this may be a stupid question but i have to ask. i've been reading and so far i know what devhook is but one major question, do i need a mod chip in order to run devhook or i can just run it on a normal psp through the memory card without a mod? Also if i have a modded psp, can i still download the new firm wire released by sony to do that link from anywhere in the world with my ps3? Help!

prinzz, the only stupid question is the question that is left un-asked. Devhook is a type of Emulator that allows you to run some PSP backups directly from your MemoryStick. The Devhook emulator itself, is saved to the MemoryStick, no MOD or MOD Chips required.

What do you mean by "modded PSP" ?

Also, you DO NOT want to download ANYMORE firmware updates from Sony. If you do, you will loose the ability to run homebrew on your PSP. What you DO want to do is flash your PSP with a custom firmware such as 3.40 OE-A.

And lastly, as far as the Location Free Player(PSP-PS3 link feature), upgrading to custom firmware 3.40 OE-A will allow it.

Was this helpful? Need any more info?

prinzz, "Flashing" a PSP or many other devices, usually means changing its firmware.

slayer191, if your question is related to DevHook Go and ask it. After all, CW Cheat is a utility designed with DevHook in mind ;) Ask away brother.

danny67, that is NOT a DEVHOOK PROBLEM/QUESTION. Please, if you want help, dont just post anywhere. You may even be desperate for help, but take the time to find the proper thread. Try 'Search'.
