Alright so i heard you need some special access point connected to a console to be able to receive the signal from a wireless router. Computers can have aby kind, but concoles need some different kind. Is that right? If so, what kind would that be? Thanks.
Normally you access the console function through a web browser, you just type the IP address of the unit, or type URL given in the manual. If however you are connecting via a serial cable connection to a com port, then just use Hyperterminal which is in Windows/Accessories/Communications. The default for most devices is 9600 8-1-N. All of this will just get you to the point where you configure the router. You set it up for IP address and any security, and if the modem is also incorporated you will need to put the ISP details such as username and password and any line specific details. Other than that, your PC will see the signal and either have the right IP address, or pick one up if using DHCP. Other than that you just need to have the right wep etc... security settings to enable access.
