router?

    ok so ive read most of this forum and i have one quesiton. can i run a setup like this? usb from modem to cpu.ethernet from nic to router. ethernet from router to xbox's or do i need a crossover somewhere or will this never work? thanks

    i still cant find nething about working a router into the picture...plz anyone done it? plz help

    if you are trying to bridge do this setup it works with most people i deal with

    Step 1) plug Usb in modem
    Step 2) plug other end of USB to comp
    Step 3) CROSS OVER cable going from xbox to comp
    **note CROSS OVER cable is WAYY!! different from a ethernet cord**
    Step 4) on your comp do the following
    Start > Control Panel > Network Connections
    if u see 2 connections local and something else highligh both and right click and click bridge and you are now bridged

    but the problem iam haveing is i need to connect 2 xboxes to internet i have modem and cross over just i dont know if the router cancles the cross over...kinda like system linking with a router? i dont know..any ideas on the router?
