Well...I'm getting so excited about this new fun I've found...LOL....I added some sound to the begining of my dance school movie. George Benson's "on Broadway". Well I got to thinking...I probably can't do this. Are there any sites with music clips....or anything like that with music that you don't have to worry about....with legal issues? I'd really like to find something to do with Broadway or showtunes. Thanks

technically you should have to pay for use of the song i public but so long as your not making money out of the use of the song you should be ok

You can find a few resources for royalty free music on the internet (primarily classical) but most of the time royalty free just means you buy it once and don't pay for licensing when you distribute copies. I've never seen anything that would meet your needs, but you never know what's out there.

Here's some general information on the legal issues involved: http://www.pdinfo.com/record.htm

This site offers free public domain recordings (classical): http://www.classicalarchives.com

This is the best resource I've found for public domain material on the internet: http://www.archive.org/
