I am trying to do the new fix for Starview and have Vista. When I connect the RS232 to the USB connector linking the laptop to the box there is no indication from windows that a usb device has even been inserted. I have searched for drivers with no luck and obviously it won't automatically update as it doesn't even recognise that a usb device is plugged in, nevermind one that doesn't work. The box is still connected by scart to the tv, does that matter? Also in device manager there is no COM section to alter at all. I bought the two linking wires off fleabay and am wondering is the fault with the wires or is it something that I can remedy myself? Thanks in advance for any help.
yeah i've been reading the stuff here for quite a while now but there was no direct answer to the question I'm posing, either in that link or elsewhere, so I thought I'd ask the question
