I've modded my xbox and with the wonderful xbmc I can watch my dvd collection from my nfs server but what I want to know is now can I rip my game collection to the network instead of the xbox hard drive itself? I know I can just ftp the games over as I want to play them but I'd like to make this as simple as possible for the kids to use.

You can't play them over the network, only from the xbox itself, so what you could do is swap in a bigger hard drive and install loads of games that way.
A couple of my xboxes have 250GB drives, one's for me and the other is for the kids to use/install whatever games and music on.

You can share everything on your computer and transfer it over to the xbox before playing it.

Also if you have 2 xbox's on the same network like creaky does, then you can easily transfer games from one xbox to the other using the file manager. It will take about 8 to 12 mins to tranfer the games. This is how i normally prepare xbox's i've modded to go to the new owner.
