Everytime i want to right click My Computer to go to properties, i get this message and i've been getting it for about 5 months now and it never really bothered me because it did not interfer with my work but now it is. I have Kaspersky, and it says that nothing is wrong, so i dont think it is a virus or anything of that manner. Here is the error message i recieve when attempting to go to My Computer Properties: rundll32.exe - Bad Image The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\systerm32\SYSDM.CPL is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette. Any suggestions. It driving me crazy.
You can try to go into msconfig and see if you can see what program is launching that dll during startup and diable it. You can also use the free autorun software to disable it. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx
*.CPL files are Control Panel files. System properties are a Control Panel function. Just Google "sysdm.cpl error" or "corrupt sysdm.cpl" and you should find some solutions to your issue.
It's funny because today, i closed my Kaspersky Antivirus for no apparent reason, and then i was able to right click My Computer to got to properties. This means that it has something to do with Kaspersky Antivirus; probably Kaspersky see's it as a someone or soemtihng trying to corrupt My Copmuter within properties. Anyways, thanks for the replies.
