I know that running multiple anti-virus programs with active resident shields can cause conflicts an slow down your system. I use Avast with real-time and AVG (resident shield turned off) as a back up on demand scanner. I hope I have that right?.

As for spyware is this same or can I run multiple spyware programs at once?.

I currently run Spybot Search & Destroy, Ad-aware SE personal, Syware blaster, Spyware Guard and recently installed Webroot Spysweeper. I also run ewido (free version without real-time scanning) and EMCO malaware destroyer (on demand). Are there any problems with using these all together?. I personally have had no problems with spyware as I only just install spysweeper and on it's first scan it only found one file which I believe was a false positive anyway (file belonged to program game - Oblivion - which was identified as a trojan?).

    Thanks for listening.

No, there should no problems with those. But I don't recommend that you use Spybot Tea-Timer because you already have SpySweeper and Ewido guard. SpywareGuard is out of date so it won't be necessary to use it.
