Can anyone tell one way or another if this is a good or bad thing? I read (I believe in Jdobbs's DVDRB FAQ) "not not to get mad if there were problems using a different avisynth then the version he provides with the program"--not an exact quote but along those lines. Anyhow, the real question is have the updated version(s) of avisynth improved enough to actually tell the difference one way or another when using it in conjunction with RB and CCESP2?
To put it as simply as possible, it's not exactly a matter of updating avisynth for improvement. There were changes made in the later versions of avisynth. Those changes cause the problems because RB calls for a particular program operation and it's finding a different setup in avisynth. Sorta like trying to open a door and finding no handle.
Ah, I see. Sort of like different versions of wine for particular programs on Linux--maybe a bad comparison but I make no claim to being computer savvy.
Close enough. RB was written for a specific version(s) of avisynth and changes in later versions of avisynth made them unusable.
