hello , i have solderD the viper chip and the viper programer. i know i should install the bios from the computer to the Gamecube . i know my questions are kind of silly but i have never done this before although i have modified plenty of PS2s. i have 2 questions if you dont mind answering : 1- first when i connect the the gamecube to the computer do i have to search for the ports or they will find each other directly and i simply press write ? 2- after the bios is copied does it read directly from the gamecube or i should put the DVD game on the PC then the game is transfered through the connection? Thank you in advance
They will find each other. The hardest part of this bitch is that you have to put your programer directly to your port! YOU HAVE TO DO THIS, BECAUSE PARELLEL CABLES DON"T DO SHIT!!!!! Your default pc setting should be fine so that the cube and pc and communicate. Just don't kill yourself trying hook the programmer to the back of your pc port. JUST DON"T BE SCARE!!! IF done correctly, just click "write" and have a nice glass of water.
He's obviously mistaken... and an idiot hence inactive. A male/female parallel extension cable will work fine. once plugged in, turn the GC on , then using the PC oper the Viper Tool and open the cobra bios. now press write and wait till it's done, then compaire to make sure the GC and Chip took the code. Now you turn off the GC unplug the cable (if you want.. I have a laptop directly connected to it all the time). Turn on the GC and it should boot into the Cobra. I am assuming you are talking about a game.. you place a game in the GC and use a ripper tool to rip it to the pc via BBA. When using your BBA it is faster to use a crossover cable.. If you don't have a BBA you will not be able to rip games. (BBA Broadband Adaptor)
Thank you guys for answering my first question i appritiate it . but i will not use the chip or modify the gamecube if after i do all the stuff of soldering and installing the bios i will have to keep the connection between GC and PC . So if u dont mind answering this question . After i modify it with the viper gc and install the bios will i be able to run the game as i do on the PS2 and Xbox when they get modified . that is i turn on the GC and put a non original mini-dvd in it and play the game .as in the PS1 PS2 Xbox or there are other procedures . Thank you in advance
It is refered to as direct boot, and yes. Problem is the DVD mini's the GC games are on arn't the same as the blanks.. get a full sized case mod and use ful sized DVD+r's. They work best.
