s video problems

    Hi
    I have got s video cable with 3 rca connected from compaq laptop to TV. the display on tv is black & white. can any one tell me how to get color display please....Thankyou

    sounds like you have the wrong cable. I did a google search and one of the main sites that sell cable make a point of:

    "Pro S-Video plus Audio Cables that provide you with COLOR Video and Stereo Audio. We provide free technical support to our customers."

    I have that pro s-video cable from svideo.com, and it works great. IT has all 3 RCA plugs for decent picture and surround sound, and it has an svideo cable which also has a speaker wire joined with it to plug into your card. I bought it because it seemed to be the best cable with 24 ft length, and yeah it seems to be just that.
