If this is breaking the rules by double posting, I apologize in advance.

Safety Valves do not count :( But you should get to Senior Member when you reach 500. Just wait until they update the site.

To address all the questions regarding the recent changes in user level changes, here's the summary:

-we never downgrade users' ranks. If you've achieved Senior Member or whatever, you wont get downgraded from it.

-all posts made in safety valve, all other topics and their Finnish forum's equivalents are nowadays irrelevant when counting the user level upgrades. Thus, say, if you achieved Member status (100 posts) about 1-2 months ago, but 90 of those were made to Safety Valve, you are still Member, but with 10 "real and counting" posts as far the upgrade system goes. Thus, you still need 490 posts to other forum rooms (other than those mentioned) before you will achieve Senior status.

Might sound as the change was only for worse, but think it this way -- now there's no pressure in Safety Valve to "stay on topic", but instead, even the silliest threads (say, going through alphabets :) are fine, as mods wont consider those threads as "pumping post count" threads anymore. Thus, Safety Valve and All other topics forums now fulfill better their purpose as places to "chat" with no real requirements to stay on any given topic.

Kudos to AD for adressing a situation that was causing much friction around here. I have purposely tried to stay away fron the Safety Valve, for fear of being accused of inflating post counts. Keep up the good work, I would be lost without AD.
