I think the postings there are OK but they should count 0 for post counts. Few people are "helped" in the Safety Valve. IMO......

Just my 2 cents - I also agree safety value posts should count as 0 but not to close it.

Back when the post count for rank was started, it was suggested that the Safety Valve and the Sig Testing threads not be counted. Since it never happened, my guess is it was too hard to weed out certain threads and have them not count. Several testing threads are now closed since that is where most tried to boost their counts. We still get way too many useless posts but its hard to stop that.

At the end of the day, to those of us that don't care about post counts, the safety valve is just a bit of fun. i do post a fair few in the safety valve, but only because i enjoy doing so. i enjoy getting to know the characters of the people of afterdawn. there's no harm in that. i couldn't care less if all my vale posts were deducted becaues, frankly, it wouldn't stop me posting there any more nor less. So closing the safety valve is wayyyy to drastic. the mods begin to spot the one liners and the people who post absolute bs, useles posts all the time. thats my two bobs worth

I have let my opinions known about Safety Valve on the 'what are you listening to' thread,

When a member posts there 0% of that post should go to their post count, I would probably actually start contributing to Safety Valve then, but people just gossip to try and bump up their posts

    I'm backing bilbo, great idea!

2nd that jkwon! It was us 2 that pointed out the fact that a few members (no names) seemed to be bumping up posts, especially in that thread. one person has even nearly reached 50 in that thread now. all i can say is people who camp out there are welcome 2 it. if they want to bump up their posts, let them! They're hardly going to gain the respect of fellow AD'ers

Ye it was me and you benjers :p Yes it's true 50 posts in one thread in safety valve, safety valve conversations aren't really helping anyone.

Idle gossip is what I refer to the conversations their as, but hey people do get enjoyment out of them but the odd few take it for granted and overpost their which isn't really on

An heronic double post considering what this topic is about, lol
