Best Buy has the Verbatim 'Digital Movie' discs, $9.99 for a cakebox of 25

Also at Best Buy, the FujiFilm discs are $19.99 for 50

-I'm not a big Fuji fan so ...

... DogBomb ... He was a goalie for the Japanese National Team. He just signed a contract with the Los Angeles Kings ... He'll probably spend the season in the minors ...

.. And for some strange reason, we get the Best Buy ad here in Anderson, Ind on Saturday instead of on Sunday like normal cities do ..

Anderson, IN is not alone. I live in northern VA and we get the Washington Post sales/comics/tv guide/etc., on Saturday. About a year ago, we used to get them as part of the Sunday paper. I looked at the ads today, but guess I missed the BB offerings.

Do you have to buy a membership to shop at Sam's Club?  I got crazy and stocked up at Office Depot when the Verbs were $37.99 .. but Sam's price is pretty good

I have purchased the Office Depot branded discs (for my granddaughter's backups) for several years now (both + & -) and they have always been manufactured by Ritek

At Office Depot the prices are $29.99 for a 50 pack (and get one free) and $59.99 for a 100 pack (and get one free)

and my favorite feature of the Ritek-produced DVDs, is the beautiful deep purple color .. quite possibly the darkest in the industry

the FUJI from bestbuy is better IF you find the MADE IN JAPAN ones in either format...if made in japan, the fuji for the 8x dvd-r will be TYG02 (but these are VERY rare as i ONLY seen made in taiwan last couple of months) and the 8x dvd+r fuji made in japans will be YUDEN000T02 coding, again Taiyo Yuden media~ :)

this ONLY holds true if you get the MADE IN JAPAN ones, if made in taiwan you will probably get prodisc/fujifilm for dvd-r and ricohjpn/ritek for the dvd+rs :)

the office depot brand will most likely give you the riteks, which i like, BUT in my opinion, are not on the same level as the Taiyo Yudens which are great~ :)

yeah the fuji DVD dash R will code out as prodisc most likly which isnt great media so def. stick with DVD plus R THAT are Made In Japan and like Kivory said they will def. code out as Taiyo Yudens TYGO2s which is great media

this is what sets Taiyo Yuden and Verbatims apart from the other blank media out there read below

    that says it all

aabbccdd- Thank you for the direct and succinct explanation of why Verbatims & Taiyo Yuden are such premium Quality media I knew that Verbatim was AZo as that's one of their major selling points ! but I did'nt know why the taiyo's were so good just that they are !so Thanks for the education and edification ! Or as I often say " I would'nt want to know everything ! That would take all the mystery out of life!" But atleast now I know more ! Peace & happy burning!
