Too hard to pass them up for that price, just to see who actually made them. Not a high quality manufacturer!

I just got back from the Office Depot in Kalamazoo, MI. and got the last two 25 packs of Maxell's that they had. One is MIT and one is MIJ.

I want to get 8 but only got two. They said that they sold out quickly. I had to hunt to find them on the shelves.

I'm still happy. Anytime I can get quality Media for .20 ea I will :)

    Cheers.

Here's my first Playo scan, burned at 4x on my benq 1620:

Better than cmag scans, not even close to verbatim or yuden000-T02 scans! Playback ok on my new magnavox stand alone. I wouldn't want to backup my OS with this stuff.

wow. they had plenty out here in san diego at the store i went to. i got two DVD+R packs and one DVD-R pack, plus a 1GB san disk USB drive for $30 AR. did pretty well except i'm pissed i didn't get there early enough for the 1GB SD memory card for my digicam ($30 AR). quickly swung by circuit city only to find their $10 512MB SD memory card sold out too. figures. ohwell. hopefully i can come up one for around that price before x-mas. i REALLY need to stop buying all this crap!!!!!!!!!

BTW, does this statement hold true for the office depot maxell's we just bought re: DVD-R packs?

i bought the one pack of DVD-R's in case i run across an old stand alone player. do you think i should take 'em back for another +R pack? would you say most stand alone players purchased in 2002 or later are compatible with the +R format? maybe 2003? do you recommend +R over -R?

thevaporz: There's not a whole lot of maxell cmags out there.Majority of the cmag posts on maxells are coming from canada. You should be ok.I have yet to hear of any cmags on the taiwanese maxell dash media at office depot.

Stand alones can be weird. They may play the dash format off of 1 burner, but same media-different burner,They may not. The dash is more compatable than the plus, however,if your burned has the bittsetting ability to booktype-then that's the most compatable backups.Booktyping alters the plus format media into dvd-rom,making stand alones easier to read them.It comes in handy if your backups are played on a lot of different stand alones/ps2s/x-box/and other pc dvd drives.

Tiburon: I'll burn those discs all day long without a single problem! Great stuff.
