SAMSUNG 1080i dlp

    Does anyone know if you can replace a 1080i chip with a 1080p chip?

    I have a Samsung 5685 pedestal hdtv

    No, you can't do that for many reasons. The biggest one is that there is no such thing as a 1080i DLP chip. The DLP technology is inherently Progressive Scan do to its "Fixed" amount of pixels.
