Hi I recently purchased the Samsung 1080P8 dvd player and am having problems playing any .avi file. I doens't matter what .avi file it is they all have the same problem. When I watch the file it seems to skip random chapters, it jumps from one chapter to the next. Its not that big of a problem just more anoying than anything. All I do is hit the back button for the chapter and it continues from where it skipped. I ave tried using Nero and BurnAware and both of them cause the same problems. Any suggestions? Oh ya and I'm using a Fujifilm Dvd+RW for the media.
I was having major problems with my Samsung DVD player too, was taking too long to load anything. returned it for Harmon/Kardon DVD48, which at times seems no better. I use my PS3 for any DivX/avi files now, have had no problems yet.
I updated to the latest firmware and it seems to be alot better now but still skips every once and awhile.
