Samsung q10 laptop help

    Hi,
    I have just got this samsung laptop giving to me as a work laptop and to be honest i love it a lovey small size and light but it just a little on the slow side, what i want to know is can it be up graged as in the cpu and ram the cpu is 866MHz pc and 632 mb of memory in happy with the 60 GB hard drive in there that's fine.

    Yes thats what i thought but i thought maby with a bios update of something maby?

    According to the samsung site, the first 128mb is soldered to the board (not a stick). Even if the bios supported 8GB, the slot only supports 512MB, and you already have that.

    Not sure on the CPU; samsung does not have any information about the CPU on their website. You sure the whole model number is Q10? Check the bottom sticker.

    no that its just q10,
    i have seen a cpu on ebay that is the same p3 as the laptops one but a 1.4 and its only £15 so if the mobo could handle is i would do the upgrade and as for the ram i was thinking maby with a bios update i could put 1gb or more in that slot.

    post a link on that cpu before you buy it as i don't think you can use it.

    see if can find a disassembly manual for your laptop to see if your cpu can be removed & maybe upgraded.

    no problem. did a search for my somewhat free dual core laptop & found the instructions on how to take it apart as sony did't have that info.
