Samsung XBOX Dvd Drive: Media manufacturer compatability List?
Does anybody know a list that shows what types of Media brands it reads.
Because I bought a 100 TDK Cd Spindle and my Xbox doesnt read my burned CDs, but it reads my RW Memorex.

If ya'll dont know a list can ya'll tell me which brands other than Memorex work for sure.

The important issue is... Is your samsung drive the 605b or f?
There isn't a real compatability list, and certainly not for cd.
I have good results with gigatain cd-r, even the phiips vad-6011's will 50% of the time read them. The samsung 605f doesn't do any cd-r as far as I know...but you can flash the firmware back to 605b with a little research.

Notice that the link you put was just referencing the table I had already linked to? All these tables are inadequate and haven't been updated for at least 2 years. Unless you have a Samsung drive avoid cd-r. Some of the Philips drives read certain brands of cd-rw (and the vad 6011 will read gigatain cd-r 50% of the time). Unless you intend only ever using a Samsung equipped xbox stick to dvd-r for all installers and bios disks. Otherwise you will have problems.

Hey..No worries.. It's not obvious that it was just a list culled from the one I linked to. There is a huge disc compatability thing on xbox-scene but it's 2 years out of date. Most of the disks listed either aren't available any more or have had the formula's changed making it an unreliable reference at best. The only really serious advice I can give on the matter is try lots of different disks and stick with the ones that work well with your drive and burner. ;-)
