Me and my friend just got this MP3 player and for some reason, we cant get it to play by track number. No matter what we do, even if the track number is before the name, it wont play by track number. I want it to go through track 1 through bajillion as it is on the CD or whatever. Why wont it work!? We have never had problems in the past with other players, or found easy workarounds. This is really bothersome, and I wish for some help.

    Summary:
    1. Wont play by track number.
    2. Need work around.
    3. Thanks again!

    Method 1.

If you have Music Match Jukebox, load the song on it, right click to edit the mp3. There will be options which you can change. One of the options will be Track Number.

    Method 2. EASIEST METHOD

If haven't already, change the numbers in front of the song in 00,01,02 format.

If you have them in 1,2,3, format, then track 10 will be the first played.

Example 08 - Mos Def - Umi Says

I did method 2 long ago, and it worked on my old MP3 player, but this one skips the numbers and goes right to the first letter after. I am thinking of just putting A,B,C,D in front of the tracks instead of numbers, but this is quite odd that I would have to do that. I also looked at the tags in Jukebox and they are in right order track wise. I just cant figure out how to fix this! Anyone else?

I have found that with both my husbands and my player (which are different brands) that they work best if I just take out everything except the #s, and I rename the numbers like mentioned above, 01,02,03, etc... On My computer I make folders for each individual albulm or book and change the name there. Then on my MP3 player I keep them organized in their folders so I know what's what. It will then play everything in each folder in order. This would only work if your MP3 player supports folders, but I think the Sansa does. If not you can put the letter first, then the number. But only 1 letter eg A. 01, A. 02, etc..then B. 01, B. 02, etc, etc..... This works on my husbands wich doesn't support folders.

Thanks this works great! Now I understand what we should do! Just take out everything and put numbers! Works great, and since I dont really look at the track names anyways, this works even better! Thanks a bunch everyone!
