If i attach my mp3 player via the USB cable to my computer the computer will not show any songs on the player. However, the mp3 player will show 87 and can listen to them. I can not see any songs what-so-ever when using the computer and looking in the music folder. The hold button is not engaged. I want to delete the entire song list/memory and start over from scratch, but the computer shows that the player is empty. I can add more songs to the player because i have 28Megs left and those songs show up fine and can delete those with no problem. What is the problem?

The problem is that this player have 2 standards for connecting to PC. One is MSC and other is MTP. Each one have different directories structure. If you put music when your player is connected as MSC, when you will conect as MTP you'll be not able to see the files uploaded previous. The same case is available when you write music files as MTP=> you can't see these files in MSC mode. So, set USB mode of your Sansa as MCS, power off, put hold switch to lock and connect to PC. You will see 3 directories: Audible, Records and Config (or something like that). See if your "invisible" music files are here. If they aren't connect as MTP. To connect as MTP: set USB mode to auto, shut down Sansa mp3 player, put hold switch to unlock and connect to PC. You will see only 2 directories now. Media and "something" (I can't remember now). Look for your "invisible" files and do what you want. MTP mode is for use with newer PC's. I advice you to use MCS mode all the time because is compatible with any PC (old or new). Good luck!
