sanyo drw-500 recorder

    i just bought this unit from walmart. HOOKED UP my sony 8mm video camera to it started recording .picture looks good.But after 20 minutes it says lost signal and stops recording. tryed it again. same thing happend. any ideas thankyou celicakid

    How long is the 8mm tape you are transfering? Is there any pauses, etc in the tape? I'm just wondering if the recorder is set to auto detect signal, and then when it gets nothing it stops.

    Another thing to try, what about running the camcorder into your VCR, and then from the VCR into the DVD recorder? I know; it is one extra step, but it might tell you where the problem lies.
