I am in rualvile now and I cnat stand dail up I am useing Netzero hispeed,even if I switched to a loccal ISP they might bitch about my being on 24/7 and at best "normal" Dail up is 2 or 3 times faster than NetZero..so I been thinking and I think I want to go with the horror thats Sat dsl I like WIld bule alil more than direcway I know theres going to be disconections and death lag for online games but I am a power downlaoder and I cant stand dailup.... they have DSL in town but I am 4 or 5 thousand feet from thier servie aera they are exspanding but it can take a year for it to get here... Sat DSL comes at a price tho Lag from HELL 300-700 Start up price Monthly price is 40-90 a month Weather can screw with you but not jsut the weather thats around you. To bad they dont have soemthign that breaks down your time online into the monthly 40-90 so downtiem you dont have to pay for >< Sigh need soem help here guys! Also I found a US Robotics V.everythign 56K modem for 90 if I stick with dail up would it befor throwing another 100 at dailup? *LOL*
if your in the UK go for telewest broadband if you can get it in your area, if not then try tiscali, they do 2meg for 17.99 i wouldnt go for a satelite connection , like youve said they can be unreliable and theyre waaaaaaay to expensive
