I am trying to flash my drive. It is a ms25.

Here is the card I ordered from newegg

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16815124022

The card I received is made by Creative I/O. It has the SY-VIA-150 chipset. However when I first installed it and started windows it showed up as a RAID controller. Then I went to install the drivers and a program named RAID TOOL was loaded.

I have no way to disable RAID in my BIOS.

I figured I'ld give it a shot and tried to read my drives firmware.

    No Drive Detected!!

I followed the sticky for this problem and its never worked. Did I receive the wrong card or am I doing something wrong.

    Bob,

I'm kind of in the same boat as you. I ordered the Newegg sata card you are talking about and it installs as a raid controller.(My installation was terrible, what a terrible driver disk) And from what I can see in my bios, I can't change to to non raid either. I'd really appreciate some advice as well on this.

i ordered the same card as you did, from the link, and the sata cable needs to be in the sata port closest to the front of the pc. it should work there, also it is occasionally easier to boot pc, type in mtkflash r /m orig.bin then turn on the 360 and press enter. this helped for me.

Well, I'm doing a Hitachi, so the MTK/flash won't work for me. And I was using the port closest to the front of the P.C. Actually tried both ports.

I have tried to hex edit using both the sticky thread and the all in one tutorial v41. No luck using either port on the card. I really have tried everything I can find on the different forums.

There must of been 100 different drivers on that disk. I guess thats one way to save costs.

if your using it to do a hitatchi i think you might have the wrong card. the card in the link has a 6241 chipset for samsungs, while i believe the hitatchi needs a chipset of something like 3142, or something along those lines, i could be wrong, just going from what i think ive read on here before.

I'm not sure about that SYBA card working for Hitachi Drives. I know for a FACT that a SIL3112 Chipset will work with the Hitachi and SLAX will put it in modeB..

Oh yeah. mkflash is ONLY for samsung drives.

If everyone would just get a damn SIL3112 chipset PCI SATA card for the Hitachi, we wouldn't be having all these issues. For you Samsung users, good luck. I'll try to help though.

I finally got my drive flashed with alot of help from frank316. The problem ended up being my motherboard. I reloaded the drivers for my mother board and was able to flash with the onboard SATA. I didn't even need the newegg card. Thanks frank316!!!!!
