Hey everyone, I built my computer earlier this year and am using a SATA hard drive. Now, I decided to scrap my old computer and put in a 120 gig ATA hard drive I had in it for extra storage. Whenever I try to connect both at the same time, the computer either refuses to boot, or refuses to recognize one. They both work properly individually, but not together. Any ideas why? Information about my computer is in my signature. Thanks in advance. Hunter007
Boot Sequence: Hard drive, DVD ROM, floppy. Only the SATA hard drive has an OS on it. The other one I formatted, so it has nothing on it. Hunter007
does the sata drive have jumpers on it & if so what is it jumpered as in master, slave or cable select? what is the ide drive jumpered as??
The SATA drive is set to master, but would it matter? It's the only SATA drive in the setup. Hunter007 **-Just in case you were wondering, I tried setting the ATA drive's jumpers to slave and cable select already. Master too, none work.
