okay so this actually has to do with my 360 drive that i am connecting to my pc's sata port. I have a dell xps 600 and it has the main harddrive connected to sata0 as it says next to the physical sata port. I connected the benq 360 drive to sata1 as it says next to the port also. I use a prodram called dosflash32 1.7. It sends a message to the powered on drive at i/o address 0x01f0. It says it is ide as the type. (i dont know an amazing amount about computers so this could be the problem here about it saying ide instead of sata). It says the channel is primary and the position is master. So that is the port it is trying to connect to unsuccessfully. Ive also tried to connect to the secondary one at port 0x0170. I really have no idea if i am even trying to connect to the same port that the sata is plugged into so any help would be nice.

You need a VIA chipset to flash Xbox 360 drives. Dell PCs typically do not use VIA chipsets.
