SATA problems with IED motherboard

    Ok i have a SATA hdd and a compatable motherboard, but the m'board has gone tit's up and now im stuck with a 200gig hdd with a lot of my data on thats useless, i am unable to afford a new m'board at the moment but want to know if i can get access the data on it with a IED board?? i bought a IED 2 SATA converter but it works the wrong way round. is there a way to get the converter to work to go from SATA 2 IED??? any help PLEEEEEASE

    Rather than do that, I would buy a cheap external enclosure for the drive so you can plug it in over USB.

    sammorris can you give a little more detail as to what you mean please, i know my way round a pc quite well but aint sure what you mean exactly. thanks for reply!
