Sata slots not working

    I changed cases and power supplies on my dell inspiron 531 desktop. after I changed cases sata slots 1 and 2 worked, but 3 and 4 didn't. Any help to fix them would be appreciated. Thanks.

    btw, I checked the cables and they are good cables.

    Your BIOS may have been reset by the move. Go into it and check that the extra slots are enabled (probably found in "onboard features" section or similar)

    That wasn't it. They were ALL 4 listed in the BIOS, but 3 and 4 were empty. Thank you for your advice, and any more wold be appreciated.

    Hmm, it's unusual to see all four hard drive slots filled in a Dell but I see no reason why that wouldn't work...

    Someone told me it was because I changed power supplies. I guess I will take it to a computer repair place and see if they can do anything. Thanks for your time.
