sata to usb

    hi i found a 2.5inch sata drive (INTERNAL) lying around 320gb and wanted to know can i use it as a external drive. and if so how?

    2.5in is a laptop drive not a desktop drive. can get a sata usb2 enclosure for that drive as i have both the 2.5" & the 3.5" sata enclosures.

    yeh i saw some on ebay now and it comes with the case and usb2.0 and ac power adapter.
    hope it works

    both my sata & ide 2.5" enclosures didn't come with power adapter but does have provision to use 1.

    do i really need to power adapter , isn't the sata powered through the usb port ?

    depends on the usb end that goes into the computer if it is double ended or not. if single end then most likely need the power adapter but if double ended then don't need the power adapter. depending on the drive & enclosure, you might get away with just the 1 usb end without a power adapter. on mine, i need to use the double ends to supply enough power to the drive or it goes tick tick tick tick. better edit your sig as out of spec both in pixels & bytes.
