I hope someone can help me out on this. This is driving me absolutely crazy! I currently have DirecTV. I wanted to get more receivers and access cards off ebay so i wouldnt have to pay the 4.95/month per reciever extra. I called them up and asked about this beforehand, she said that i would need new access cards ($20 each X2) because the old ones are linked to the previous user and cant be transferred, and i would still have to pay the $4.95 per reciever per month. I think the directv are trying to scam me into buying something extra i dont need. True or false?
yup thats correct info. they wont activate a card you got somewhere else because everyone was hacking the cards a few years ago .the only thing you can do it use the output off ONE receiver and run it to another TV with the one card you have. just get cable you can split that off as many times as you want
