Hi, so i have my sat dish pretty much same position as next door, oviously nOt perfect. I have sat finder frOm box the from sat finder to dish no power to it no light etc. SO i tryed puting sat meter onto back of box with small bit of cable that came with it amd i get light and noise from it, however as soon as i connect other bit of cable to it to make full circut the goes off like its dead , this happens if its connected to lnb or not, and tryed to bits of same kind of cable, any one have an idea? Could it just be the cable is rubbish? It was 1 20m length of dual core like for sky plus but i only needed one core so split it down middle . Any help would b appreciated . Lnb was brand new so was cable. Is it to long?

Bring dish & lnb into room with box & connect with shorter cable. If satfinder works you need
    new cable

Depends on the satfinder, some won't buzz until they pick up signal from dish. Try lnb on it's
own first & if necessary bring in dish

90% of the time, this happens because of a short in cable, and the short is almost invarible at the f connectors. redo f connections, plug cable into lnb port on box, then touch the other end of cable with f connector on, off your tounge, you should get 18v, it's just a tingle! if no voltage, theres a short...new cable. assuming you've done the f properly.
