save audio as video clip

Yes I know the request is awkward, but bare with me. What I want is to have an audio clip on my iPhone, BUT I don't want it in the iPod section. I want it in the Photo section. So I thought I was smart and opened the audio clip with Quicktime 7, saved it as mp4, even tried exporting as mp4, but neither iTunes not iPhoto will recognize it. I imagine it has something to do with the codecs, but I am not all that savy. SO....

My question is: Is there a way to save or convert an audio clip within a video format, such as mp4 or 3gp, or mov. I imagine maybe creating a mini-movie with pix and audio, but I am looking for the quickest and easiest way to do this. The video itself is NOT important, as long as I get the audio. Preferably Mac instructions or suggestions.
